It all began many years ago when Ken wrote his first commercial at the age of 10—a :30 TV spot for the State Bank of Florida where he had just opened his first savings account. He presented the concept to the bank manager and was politely patted on the head and sent home with his rejected idea in hand. Through this experience he learned two things that would serve him well in his future career as an Advertising Professional. One, spec work rarely pays. And two, he sucked as a creative. Shortly afterward the bank was swallowed whole in a series of mergers and eventually the manager was laid off, giving Ken some sense of satisfaction and the knowledge that had the manager produced his spot things might have been a lot different for both of them. Since that time Ken has proven to be one of those rare people that has actually put his advertising degree to use in advertising. First as a franchise marketing director for a fast food company where he learned the fine art of couponing, and later in account management where he learned that a nice meal and a fine Bordeaux can solve a lot of advertising problems. He began his agency career with WestGroup (now WestWayne) in their Jacksonville, Tampa and Atlanta offices; later he became a partner with Endres & Wilson in Nashville, and recently EVP, Management Partner with The Buntin Group. He currently is VP, General Manager with Lewis Communications. Ken has served on the board and as President of the Nashville chapter of the American Marketing Association where he played a leadership role in reversing their declining membership and participation. If elected to the board of the NAF he promises to bring immediate peace to the Middle East, solve the world’s health problems and find a network for the Miss America pageant.

Lisa Minor
Marketing Communications Manager
LP Building Products
At an early age, it was apparent that Lisa Minor was destined to work in advertising. She made up jingles as a toddler. She asked for (and received) a filing cabinet for Christmas at age 6. She got her first briefcase at age 9. Many OCD experiences later, Lisa obtained BA and MA degrees from University of Memphis where she majored in Journalism/Advertising. She landed her first real AE job at Thompson & Company in Memphis where she worked with such clients as First Tennessee, Seabrook Wallcoverings, and Georgia Boot. She then went to Oden Marketing and Design in Memphis where she worked on the FedEx account. Then, it was on to Carpenter/Sullivan in Memphis where she served such clients as Stax Museum, Shamrock Plank Flooring, and Christ Community Health Services. While in Memphis, Lisa was on the Board of the Memphis Advertising Federation, where she served as chair of the 2004 Pyramid Awards. After a move to Music City in 2006, Lisa joined The Buntin Group, where she worked with TVA, Purolator, and Chinet. In 2007, she made the move to the client side (gasp!), where she currently works as a Marketing Communications Manager for LP Building Products. To date, Lisa has been involved with the NAF by serving as co-chair of the 2007 ADDYs and chair of the 2008 ADDYs. |
