Business Development Specialist – The Tennessean

The Tennessean is looking for a strong performer to provide consultative research and marketing assistance to the advertising staff and advertising customers in order to help grow advertising revenue. You should be a strong communicator, goal- and detail-oriented, and self-motivated. You will use, understand and apply a wide variety of research and data in order to provide marketing advice and communicate the value of advertising products to customers.  

The Ideal Candidate

1. Has a college degree in marketing, research, business, or related field.
2. At least three years of experience in marketing, sales or related business field.
3. Possesses excellent written and verbal communications skills.
4. Is PC proficient with intermediate skills in Word, Excel, and strong PowerPoint skills; database skills preferred.
5. Is conversant in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, statistical analysis and use of research in sales and communication.
6. Is customer-oriented and has experience with sales or other customer contact.
7. Is organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
